Albania at 1:150,000 on a very large, indexed, double-sided road map from Freytag & Berndt prominently highlighting publishers’ recommendations of 10 best sights, each described in the accompanying booklet. The map divides north/south with Tirana included on both sides.

The country’s topography is vividly presented by relief shading, with spot heights and names of mountain ranges, etc. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. Road network includes small local roads, most shown with driving distances. Scenic routes are highlighted. Railway lines are shown with stations and regional airports are marked. The map also shows internal administrative boundaries with names of the provinces. Symbols indicate various facilities and places of interest including campsites. Road network includes country tracks, with road numbers very clearly presented and distances shown on many smaller routes. Locations of petrol stations and border crossings are marked. Railway lines are included and local airports are marked. Also shown are internal administrative boundaries with names of the provinces.

Freytag & Berndt’s large, double-sided road map of Italy at 1:600,000, with a separate booklet attached to the map cover providing street plans of the country’s 12 main cities plus an extensive index listing all localities with their postcodes.

Bold relief shading with plenty of names of geographical features provides a good presentation of the country’s topography, both in the northern part where the coverage extends to include most of southern Switzerland and the Austrian Alps south of Innsbruck, and along the spine of the Apennines.

Road network includes many small local roads, most with driving distances. Gradients are marked on steep roads. The railway network and ferry connections are included. Symbols highlight some places of interest, including national parks, but the map is basically designed to show the road network rather than the country’s great artistic and historical heritage.

The map has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 30’. Multilingual map legend includes English.

A separate booklet attached to the map cover contains an index, listing all localities with their postcodes and providing street plans of Ancona, Bari, Cagliari, Bolzano, Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Turin and Venice.

Bold relief shading with names of mountain ranges and main peaks shows the country’s topography. All place names are given in both Greek and Latin alphabets. Road network includes small local roads but without distinguishing between surfaced and gravel roads. Toll roads and motorway services are shown, with diving distances marked on many secondary routes. The map also shows railway network and ferry routes.
