Germany
Ordinær pris 199,00 krGermany is Europe's most populous country and is a very popular travel destination. It is also noteworthy for being the first country in the world to generate more than 50% of its energy needs from renewable sources, something we in North America should emulate. It also has Europe's most advanced rapid rail networks, which we emphasize on our map. Side 1 concentrates on the northern half of the country, from the Danish frontier south to the Ruhr region and Magdeburg, with side 2 covering the south. Small portions of adjoining countries also show. We have updated the motorway network, showing portions under construction where necessary. The main highway network is shown in great detail, as this is the best way to explore traditional Germany.
Major points of interest are shown, but the country is replete with castles, fortresses, manor houses, gardens, and other touristic attractions. We have used the German names for cities, which sometimes varies from commonly-known English nomenclature. This only affects a few urban areas, such as Koln for Cologne, or Munchen for Munich; 99.9% of German place names are the same in English and German. The map is printed on waterproof stone paper for durability.

Germany: Frankfurt & Central
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThe historic city of Frankfurt started as a Roman city. The Romer (Roman, in English) central old town was the Roman encampment, and the current market square was the forum. We have been to Frankfurt many times, thanks to the annual book fair that is held there, and have long wanted to add the city to our range of European titles. Covid provided time to develop the artwork, and the map is now here. The reverse side is extremely important, covering central Germany in detail. This is also one of the most-travelled parts of Europe, so we have created a new map showing all the touristic destinations from the Rhine to Leipzig and from Gottingen south to Wurzburg. The map is printed on stone paper for both durability and resistance to water; a perfect umbrella in an emergency!
Germany: Schleswig-Holstein - Hamburg
Ordinær pris 199,00 krDetailed road map of Schleswig-Holstein with extensive index. Clearly shows the national road network and selected provincial and local roads, with each class of road clearly indicated and road numbers shown. Topography is shown with relief shading and some spot heights, and colour shading is used to indicate land types such as forests or marshland. International and provincial boundaries are clearly marked, as are National Parks, nature reserves and restricted military areas.
Symbols indicate various sights & locations of tourist interest, such as churches, leisure & sports destinations, panoramas & viewing points, monuments and historic sites. Sights of particular interest are circled. Some hotels and campsites are marked. Railway lines, airports, ports and marinas are also shown.
