Cameroon; Gabon & Equatorial Guinea
Ordinær pris 199,00 krITM har kart over hele verden og de spesialiserer seg på land litt utenfor allfarvei. Beliggenheten til landets nasjonalparker, historiske monumenter, de viktigste veiene o.L. Finner du inkludert i kartene. Samtlige landkart har ofte et bykart over hovedstaden.
From ITMB: Africa is blessed with many diverse countries. Cameroun and Gabon are two of the stable, tourist-friendly countries, with easy access from Europe by air. This map has two covers, so can be displayed cover-outwards to focus on each country. Cameroun emerged out of the German colony of Kameroun after WW1 and was jointly administered by Britain and France until the 1960s. An inset of Yaounde;, the capital, is included, as is an inset of Douala, the country's major port city. The second side concentrates on Gabon, a former French colony that shares a border with Cameroun. This side includes two inset map; one of Libreville, the country's capital, with the other detailing Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea. Mainland Equatorial Guinea is also included on the side of the map, at the same scale as Gabon. Thus, one gets three countries for the price of one! This is the only map of Equatorial Guinea that I am aware of being in print.

Vietnam: South & Ho Chi Minh City
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThis map updates a fast-changing city to reflect its changing features. With this edition, we have doubled-up the map by adding a map of the Mekong Delta to the reverse side. The 'Nine Mouths of the Dragon' southernmost portion of VN, of which HCM City is a part, is a fascinating part of Asian life, where fervent religious temples originating with the Cham culture of Cambodia co-exist with the Cao Dai amalgam religious movement.

Finner du inkludert i kartene. Samtlige landkart har ofte et bykart over hovedstaden.
Fra ITM: Antarctica remains one of the most fascinating places on earth. It is possible to visit the continent during the ‘summer’ months of January/February, by ship. This5th edition has Antarctica on one side and Tierra del Fuego on the other, since most ships heading across the Drake Passage originate in Ushuaia, Argentina. This edition is also unique in that we portray loss of permanent ice since the last edition. Global warming is melting the ice cover quite quickly, both visibly above the surface and by warmer ocean currents melting the underside of ice shelves. This should cause a carving off of a huge piece of ice in the near future that is about the size of Prince Edward Island in Canada. Scale 1:7 mill. Printed on waterproof paper. Legend includes: International Date Line, Trans-Antarctic Expedition, Amundsen 1911, Scot 1911-12, Point of Interest, Mountain Peak, Volcano, Closest Approach to Continent by Cook., Island covered by Ice shelf, Ice shelf, Ice rise on ice shelf, Ice melted or calved, Glacier, Melted Glacier for Antarctica, Road Number, International Boundary, Administrative Boundary, Main Highway, Paved, Main Road, Pabed, Secondary Road, Other Road Trail/Track Road, Railway, Timezone, Ferry Route, Rivers, Seasonal Rivers, Lake, Swamp, Glacier, Sand pan, Park and much more...

Norway
Ordinær pris 199,00 krNorway is one of the most popular countries for visitors in Europe. We spent an interesting time researching this map in Norway, travelling all the way north to Nordkapp, a trip that took a week. We were actually on a cruise ship for much of the travel time. We also discovered a bookstore in Narvik that sells travel maps and obtained valuable research material there. Norway, as a country, is one of the prime travel destinations in the world-lots of wide open spaces, all the mod-cons, and fantastic scenery. Obviously, Nordkapp is a huge attraction, being the most northerly part of Europe one can access, but Norway has lots of other attractions. Roads in Norway tend to be of a very good quality, but are mostly two-laned and winding.
There are coastal ferries joining isolated communities from south to north, and lots of ferries for car crossings of fiords. We took a local ferry from Ålesund into the interior of Stor Fiord. It took all day to make the trip, but it was a great experience, and that's what travel is all about! Bergen is also a very interesting city to visit. Generally, Norway ranks very high as a safe and pleasant travel destination, now enhanced by being printed on durable stone paper.

South Pacific: Polynesian Islands
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThis map replaces our popular Polynesian atlas, which we have been forced to discontinue due to high printing costs. Side 1 (the cover side) has a regional map of Polynesia, from Hawaii south to New Zealand and east to Easter Island and west to the Soloman Islands. Inset maps of Aitutaki, Rarotonga, Tongatapu, and Vavau show these islands in excellent detail.
The second side is loaded with inset maps of Samoa, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Easter Island, Moorea, and other lesser-known islands that constitute Polynesia. As most islands are very small, we could only focus on the larger entities, but ITMB has already prepared maps of such entities as New Caledonia, Fiji, Tonga, the Solomons, Easter Island, Samoa, and Tahiti, so this map is intended for those cruising the Pacific and visiting a variety of islands.

Sudan & South Sudan
Ordinær pris 199,00 krConsidering that Sudan is locked into an even more brutal civil war than the one besetting Israel-Hamas, this might seem like an odd time to bring out our first-ever map of Sudan and South Sudan, but it may be an important area of the world to have an updated map of, to focus on a tragedy unfolding mostly unnoticed by the world at large. More than 10,000 locals have been slaughtered since a rebel group made an abortive grasp to overthrow the current government a couple of months ago, mostly in the Darfur region.
ITMB publishes maps to encourage touristic travel, but our maps also bear witness to atrocities and natural disasters and are widely used by selected governments and humanitarian aid groups thanks to the accuracy of our artwork. Side 1 concentrates on Sudan from its disputed (and closed) border with Egypt south to a little below Khartoum, the capital. An inset map of central Khartoum is also included.
Side 2 focusses on South Sudan from its borders with CAR, Congo, Uganda, and Kenya north to the still-contested border with Sudan and the southern provinces of that country. The most dominant feature of both Sudans is the Nile River (White Branch) that flows through both countries on its way to the Mediterranean. This is the first time that South Sudan has been so intensely mapped and is a credit to Lan’s team of cartographers to portray a country carved recently out of adversity and coping with intense tribal rivalries.

Egypt: Cairo & Nile Delta
Ordinær pris 199,00 krCairo is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world (as is Egypt as a country, which we map separately). Side 1 focuses on the city itself, with insets of Alexandria, the pyramids of Gizi, and the region immediately surrounding Cairo. The city has also expanded its rapid transit Metro system, which is shown on the back cover. An extension to the airport should open next year. The second side of the map sheet shows the delta of the Nile River, which is a gigantic flood plain, and follows the course of the river south past Cairo all the way past Luxor. Much of the Red Sea is included, as is most of the Sinai Peninsula. The famous canal is, of course, shown in detail.
This map is designed for the visitor concentrating on the most popular aspects of a trip to ancient Egypt. The map also has two Top Attraction lists, one for the city and one for the region, to make it easy for users to locate such sites as the Temple of Horus or the must-see new Museum of Egypt.

Caribbean Cruising
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThe Caribbean Sea is one of the most popular cruising destinations in the world. This colourful double-sided map starts just north of Orlando/Tampa in order to show the northernmost Bahamian islands and south as far as the Panama Canal at Colon and the coast of Venezuela. The map shows good detail for each island and the legal boundaries of each island nation. Side 1 concentrates on the western Caribbean, essentially the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. Here's a fun fact most of you won't know: tiny Navassa Island between Haiti and Jamaica is claimed by both the USA and Haiti! Side 2 concentrates on the eastern islands of the Caribbean, such as Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), Puerto Rico and the US and British Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos, and the Lesser Antilles chain of island countries, such as Antigua, Guadeloupe, Barbados, and Trinidad/Tobago, among others.
Coverage then extends westward along the Venezuelan coastline to include the Dutch possessions of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. Interestingly, there is a small island called Isla Mona west of Puerto Rico on the map that I have never heard of. There are also two Bonaire islands. This is a very interesting map! The most popular cruise line routes are shown; most start either from Puerto Rico or from southern Florida. The map also includes a Top Attractions list, and dozens of local points of interest related to each island.

Portugal: Lisbon & Portugal
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThe city of Lisbon is one of the most attractive in Europe. It is an ancient city, but most of its architecture dates from the Victorian era. It has a fascinating number of tram lines, and the trams tend to be an experience worth the trip. One graces our cover. There is no cheaper way to explore this city than to climb aboard and let the rails decide your destination!
Coverage extends from the northern and western motorways to the southerly Rio Tejo and the national museum, so shows the city quite comprehensively. Almost half of the map area is of the massive Monsanto Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. The reverse side is equally important, in that it presents our first-ever map dedicated to showing the charms of the entire country of Portugal. A bit of western Spain is included due to the unevenness of the border, but the map goes from the northernmost tipoff Castelo to the southernmost expanse of the Costa Do Algarve, showing touristic attractions, historic sites, beaches, museums, rail connections, and major parks.
The map is printed on waterproof stone paper, a recent technological innovation that is gradually replacing plastic.

Fra ITM: We are very pleased to present our very first cruising map covering the Mediterranean Sea. This is a double-sided map covering the eastern portion on side 1 and the western part on side 2. We were presented with a dilemma in designing this map, in that the shape of the sea is such that to include the straits of Gibraltar and the Dardanelles on the same map, a compromise would be necessary.
As few cruise ships now go to the North African coast, we concentrated on showing only the portion from Morocco to Tunisia so we could show Spain, France, Italy, Greece, the Balkans, and the Eastern Mediterranean, including the Black Sea. Little did we know that war in Europe would impact so intensely on what should be a pleasurable touristic map. Regardless, almost all of the ports of call for cruise ships in 2022 are shown on this map, including those favoured by smaller liners in the Adriatic Sea. We have also included common ferry routes between Italy and Greece and Marseille to Algiers.

Guam & West Pacific Cruising
Ordinær pris 169,00 krWe are very pleased to be (finally) able to publish the first travel map of the island of Guam. Certainly, this is the only map of Guam by any major cartographic publishing house. Here are some details: Guam is a north-south island considerably north of New Guinea, and forms part of the American-held group of islands known as the Northern Marianas. Its capital is Hagatna, and the main town is called Tamuning. The island has a well-developed international airport in the middle portion of the island, with a large US military airbase in the northeast corner. The vast majority of the island is touristic, and well worth a visit. The island was "discovered" by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, and Hagatna is the oldest "European" city in the Pacific, dating from 1686. The town of Inarajan retains a decidedly Spanish appearance to this day. Other attractions include Tumon Beach and its many resorts, the Piti Underwater Observatory, and the famous Cocos Island dive wall.
This is a double-sided map, with the Western Pacific Cruising map gracing the second side of the page. This side covers several island entities, and stretches from Australia in the south to Japan in the north and as far to the east as Hawaii and the Cook Islands, so includes such popular cruise destinations as Fiji, Tonga, New Caledonia, the Solomons, Papua, Samoa, Kiribati, and the Marshall Islands. It makes a lovely wall map!
